Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
BookACallout respects your privacy and is committed to processing personal information lawfully, reasonably and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains how personal information may be collected, used, stored and shared when you use BookACallout, including through our website, WhatsApp interactions and related services.
1. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use BookACallout, we may process information such as your name, mobile or WhatsApp number, contact details, location or service area, service requests, messages, recommendations, provider profile information, availability, submitted evidence or attachments, and technical information required to operate and secure the service.
2. Why we process information
We process personal information to register and identify users, understand service requests, identify or recommend suitable service providers, facilitate introductions and communication, operate provider onboarding, manage requests and outcomes, prevent abuse, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service.
3. Recommendations and service-provider information
Users may recommend service providers. A recommendation does not by itself create a registered provider account. Where an invitation is required, the provider should be given an opportunity to decide whether to participate. Public provider information and recommendations should only be displayed in accordance with BookACallout's applicable consent, moderation and publication rules.
4. AI-assisted processing
BookACallout may use automated or AI-assisted tools to interpret requests, identify similar requests, moderate recommendation wording, generate summaries and assist with matching. AI-generated outputs are not treated as verified facts merely because they were generated by an automated system. Important eligibility, safety, qualification and policy decisions remain subject to application rules and, where appropriate, human review.
5. Sharing of information
We may share information where necessary to facilitate a requested service, communicate with selected service providers, operate technology suppliers or messaging platforms, comply with law, or protect the rights and security of users and the platform. We aim to disclose only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain legitimate business and audit records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or establish and defend legal claims. Information that is no longer required should be deleted, destroyed or de-identified where appropriate.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request confirmation of personal information held about you, access to that information, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion/destruction of information where appropriate. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
9. Data deletion
You can find information about requesting deletion of your BookACallout information on our Data Deletion page. Some information may need to be retained where required by law, for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or legitimate record-keeping purposes.
10. Third-party services
BookACallout may rely on third-party platforms and infrastructure, including WhatsApp/Meta and hosting or communications providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply when you use their services.
11. Children
BookACallout is intended for users who are legally able to use the applicable service or who use it with any consent required by law. We do not knowingly seek unnecessary personal information from children.
12. Contact and complaints
For privacy questions, access, correction or deletion requests, contact BookACallout using the privacy contact details published on the BookACallout website.
If you believe your personal information has been processed unlawfully, you may also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BookACallout develops. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
